151 By Chunk
Well it all started with the club wanting to go down to Bay City and getting tattooed. I spent some time down their working and was lucky enough to met some kool people and one bad ass tattoo shop. 151 Proof Tattoos is where the local grease balls told me to go. And when I got home my pals where stoked about all the work I had gotten done and wanted to go there one day. Years pass and finally got a day set up to head down there. Called the man up Scott DeWolf owner of 151 and set it up, July 11Th and 12Th. Told him we'd bring the rides up and hang out for the weekend "kool" he said see you then. We couldn't wait or foresee what was next. A couple weeks later Scott calls me up "Hey man were going to throw a car show, and block of the road, have bar-b-q, save some boobies. For that weekend when yawl come down." "What, block off the road, and did you say boobies." I said. "hey man I went and talked to the mayor and got a permit for the road in front of the shop." "Bad ass now what about boobies." I told him " Yeah I also got in touch with the breast cancer society for all proceeds to got the them so we can save the boobies." As Scott explained all of this I couldn't believe it and now I really couldn't wait. Friday afternoon Mike , Bobby, Brandon, Matt, myself with some of the better halves headed out to make the 3 hour dive to Bay City. The other guys were going to meet up with us there Saturday due to there work schedules. Not a bad trip traffic sucked in the usual spots 610 south, 288 in Pear Land, a little hot out. No car problems except my front end would shake bad time to time. "Hey as far as I know it's the original front suspension in there." But I toughed it out and headed on. We rolled in to town about 5:30pm, checked into the hotel and went straight to the shop. We had a nice welcome when we pulled up handshakes, hugs, and hell yeahs where passed out.The drinking had already began and now it was time to get tattooed. Scott and Mondo put out some bad ass work just look for yourself And there was more to come tomorrow. We didn't hang out long Scott had shut down a little early Friday night to get an early start Saturday. Show time, when we got there the next morning at 9:30 some other rides where already there. Scott and The Blacktop Butchers showed up shortly after us. They spent no time shutting down the road and running newer cars out. Slowly but surely other rides and bike started showing up and the bar was open. Nice weather all day you couldn't ask for better. Good people all around no one was trying to be kooler than the other, it was just a bunch of good old boys and girls. About lunch time Speedy had showed up with Sarah's and Brandon's mini bikes. And not but two passes down the road Sarah wipes out and bends the forks now down to one bike. Some real nice Cushman and Allstate bikes had also pulled up so now the races were on. With mini bike races going on, burn outs, loud motors being reved up all day outside all anyone could do was laugh. Inside the shop Scott was busy all day putting out one masterpiece after another along with great music pumping out of the doors as well. The best of psychobilly, rockabilly, and punk played non stop, gotta love it. Scott's wife Amy and cousin Matt were selling raffle tickets most of the day for tattoos, piercings, and one tequila gun all money going to save boobies. The Blacktop boys were also selling water, soda, and bar-b-q to help out. The cars, bikes. mini bikes, go carts, anything and everything were in and out of the road no stop. About 5:00 trophies were given out which were some of the koolest one I've ever seen, all made by the Blacktop Butchers. Many were given out to some real nice rides, a couple kool facts here, there was no 1st places all 2ND place with born to lose painted on them. Another was that none of the Blacktops got a trophy, not even a 2ND place trophy. After that the raffles were drawn and money was counted with a total of 1,100 dollars raised for the breast cancer society. The show was over people cruised off for more food and beer, but poor old Scott was back to work. For over 12 hour he tattooed, The Mad Greasers would like to thank Scott for all that work and not just the tattoos. This hole weekend wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for him, so if you were there and loved it like we did stop by and say "thanks man, can't wait for next year". And there will be a next year. Scott had only 2 months to plan this one, now he's got a whole year so look out for it. Fangs again to The Blacktop Butchers, Scott DeWolf,Texas Josh, Shawn, and everyone else for a great weekend. Chunk, Mad Greasers
